STEvil
Nothing to do with vortex theory, its just wave propagation physics. Same reason a t-line or horn sounds best further away. explain it. just out of my own curiousity This is the short answer: Low frequency sound travels farther than high frequency sound before the wave form is fully formed. Using a reflected wave path adds length to the wave path before it reaches you. Not a perfect example but something like this: The long answer is you need to research bandpass enclosures (the trunk is creating a bandpass enclosure) and wave harmonics/fundamentals (reflected paths will add harmonic reinforcement to the wave path). MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed. IH8PunkRok
trust me I know wave theory like crazy but wave theory only matters so much especially when talking about low frequencies the reason he got louder with the trunk open is the same reason most people get louder with the door open. more available air -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
STEvil
Hint: what are the path differences with an open door? Hint: we are talking about low frequencies. Hint: Effective air excitation is directional in nature. PsychoSoundz
im having a hard time bringing myself spray foam anything in my new car this is my only family car so I will do m y best and yes I will be building a new box to cover up that whole front area around the seats to get the best seal I can without tearing into it. (we'll see I might just cant take it and do it anyway) The Five hundred is a great car REAL ROOMY that's for sure great with the family. when looking for one get one with the bigger motor I got a not so powerful motor. but all in all its a great looking car you can make them look really nice just got the windows tinted it comes with factory 18" wheels looking for some chrome 20"s tho. all black leather moon roof fully loaded, I would definitely recommend it. oh yeah and plenty of trunk space for speakers and other stuff yea i agree with just building a new box that totally fills that space get you some expand foam and that second skin. and seal it up . it will be alot louder and cleaner sounding. btw, how is the five hundred? im thinking about getting one in the next month or so... awesome man, i will most likely get one my self. i could use the room im a pretty tall guy. That and the trunk space makes me blush.... But i know the spray foam is messy, but there are ways to make things neat. thats up to you and your creativity buddy. it can look damn near factory if you do everything right. could you get some pics once you start building enclosure?
