Need opinions

Just bought another truck to mess around with and looking into doing a blowthrough. I figured if I'm doing a blowthrough I wanted to do 4 15s.

I'm gonna purchase a h/o alt of course.

My first option is 4 sundown sa 15s running off of a crescendo bc3500d or a sundown saz 2500d. Looking to only spend about $800 on the amp. Would the crescendo out do the saz for the same dollar pretty much?

2nd option was to get a lil louder. 4 sundown zv4 15s running off of 2 crescendo bc3500d or 2 saz 2500d. Or would that not be enough power to call it good? Would the much higher power subs

My question is with the power I'm thinking of giving the 2 options what would be more ideal. I want it loud... I just don't want to get the 4 sa's and want louder... The sundown sa route is def more in the price range that id like to pay also.

I also figure if down the road I could add 2 more sa 15s and another bc3500d/saz2500.

you need to have a total budget

not a sub budget and amp budget

they are 1 in the same

going by option 1 you have 1700 to spend

option 2 4600

so what is it there's a big ass difference there

and if your not loud enough on 4x sa15

Anyway, can you fit 6 15's in there? If you can, you'll get louder as; a) more cone area & b.) .667ohm load (rather than 1ohm nominal)

A friend of mine ran 6 JBL 15's in a tunnel off a SAZ-2500D and did like a 53-54 or something. It was VERY loud to the ear.

If it was me, I'd get:

6x SA15's

1x SAZ2500D/3500D or even a 4500D for that matter!

1x SAX100.4 (or similar)

2x sets of Sundown components

1 or 2 group 31's (PC2150 or D3100 would be top of my list if in budget)

Ideally your going to want to have a 200a+ alternator and a few runs of 0awg (2x pos & 1x neg)

Don't think you need a load of mids and highs. Proper placed speakers (ie pointing towards your head) sound much better than at your feet or knees!

Thank you! Appreciate the input. I'm gonna try an get some measurements in to see if 6 15s would work. I was still looking into crescendo amps/mids n highs because of the reasonable price but don't know much of there quality. There PDX line seems very affordable for mids and highs.

For my amp id need 3600rms. That's why I was looking into the bc3500 which says its doing 3875rms. Or would those subs take a bc5500 and love it?

Yeah, I can't see why you couldn't run a BC5500 on them. People hit them with 1k+ and don't get smelly/burnt/dead coils.

I would do it, at .667ohm with a bit of box rise you could still be in the 800-1000w neck of the woods...

Right on! I'm down to either 6 sa15s or 4 of the x line that someone mentioned to me. I wanna do some looking into on the x line first. What I'm left with now is a box design which is gonna stumble me. I've never worked with more then 2 subs :/

If you have a budget in mind

And you can't afford the sa or x series

Don't rule out the e

For the $ you can still get a very loud reliable system

If you have budgeted and can afford 4 sa15

You could do 8 e12 on same power if not more and have 30% more cone for same net volume

And same for 6 v's 12 e12 and again 30% more cone for same net volume

You could even same some coin and just do e15

And save 100 per sub

6x e15 on an sax2500= $1550

4x sa15 on a sax2500= $1700

Or add $350 to upgrade to sax3500

As for 1x sa15 v's 2x e12 the e12 you save $10 to change over

Thanks for the suggestions! I don't wanna go over 6 subs I think just cuz of space.

I keep getting more and more ideas of what I wanna do its starting to get quite out of hand...

4 sa 15s 2400rms, bc3500. $1720

3 X 18s 3750rms, bc5500 $ 2050

What would be the difference of those 2? Sound quality, loudness, everything. I've never heard an 18..
