Disconnect stock infiniti amp?

I have a 1999 Dodge durango with the infiniti speaker system. I just put kicker components in the doors. I'm wanting to install a four channel amp in the next day or so. My question is should I unplug the infiniti amp up in the kick panel or just leave it? Thanks Guys!

Probably the easiest thing to do is just run speaker wire from your 4 channel to your kicker components. What all does your current system consist of?

that's not my question lol my durango has the stock infiniti system. It comes with an amp in the kick panel for the speakers. I'm wondering if i should disconnect that amp before i install my 4 channel or just leave it

Like physically take it out of your truck or disconnect it? If you are installing a new amplifier then there really isn't any point in keeping it hooked up. Whether you actually take it out of your truck or not is up to you.

I would disconnect it personally. That way it wouldn't be drawing anything off of your electrical system.

But what can it draw if no load is on it?

I mean it will turn on yeah but I wouldn't think it drains that much

When I was tuning my 2200 with the car off, my voltage dropped a bit. Batts were resting at 13.0, went to 12.8 and once I was done they were at 12.6. Once the load was off the bats slowly went back up to 12.9

Yes but I think your 2200 is a little bigger than his stock amp. But for peace of mind I guess it's easy enough to disconnect. Especially if you have easy access to it
