distribution block or not?

Recommended Posts

So right now I have 1 run of 4 gauge coming from my battery going into a distribution block, and then from the block i have 2 separate runs going to my 2 amps. Should I keep it like that? or make it 2 long runs of 4 gauge from the battery going to each amp and eliminate the distribution block?

We will need alot more info to help you man.

Usually people would split a 1/0 run into 2 short 4ga runs. Dont run 2 4ga from the batt to the amp.

more info like what? I have one amp for my subs, 1 amp for my mids/highs. I have a run of 4 gauge going into the trunk and into a distro block and from the block i have a run of 4 gauge going to each amp. What you're saying is do 1 run of 1/0 from the batt to a distro block, then split it off with 4 gauge to each amp? Would that give me more power to each amp?

It would be better to run one 0 gauge to distribution block and then split the power to the amps..

If you have some budget, upgrade ur wiring with a Big3.. its a good starting point, then you can think about aftermarket battery ..

Sounds like its safe to go ahead and bend that ass over.

If you run 0 from batt to distribution block

That's will be better as all^ have said

Then use the 4g you have now to do big3

That's what I always recommend

I also run multi earth

Batt to block

Batt to chassis

Batt to body

Batt to ecu ground location

+ I leave all the factory earth

The alt to batt

What u also need to remember is the 0 g will need a fuse rated for that wire

And if you 4g runs are longer the 18" you'll need a fuse there rated for that wire

I like to use distribution blocks with built in fuse for daily installed
