Can raising the tuning of a box gain db (4 sundown zv3 18s)

Oh now you're talking sonotubes, those can go up to around 36 inches in diameter if you wanted one.

I have to correct you guys on a few things. I no from expirence last summer that one 8" aero port was loud as hell with two zv3 18"s in 9 cubes. Not enough port but was painful tuned to 38hz. Then I went to one tench aero port and that's only like 72" square inches of port and I was doing a 54db it. When using aero ports you only need 9-12 cubes per foot. So if my box is 17.5 cubes then I would need about 157"-210" square inches of port. And according to psp calc in order for me to get 38hz tuning each aero would only have to be 12" long.

you said you want more cubes.. i said mount them externally.

i said it will be a lil small with 3 8inch aeros.. you said aeros only need 9-12sq inches per.... you are at 8.6 per. lol

8.6

nah, you could do 3 8s with great results or even 2 10s with great results. "usually" a smaller port will be more "musical" than an oversized one. although it wont do as well on the meter... sonotubes arent considered aero ports... they are round ports, unless you modify them.

keep this in mind I dont compete sothis is just for daily, I was looking at the sono tubes just now but it wont tell you how much port area one has, like a 13, 14, 15, 16" tube.

And in that example if the subs were moved and a slot port was done in the correct location and correct port area it would be louder. That's a fact.

Did a quick calc to see how much port 3 10' sonotubes would do, which is 12.8 per, tried keeping it close to the same size as your current box, idk if you wanted bigger.

18x40x60, torres screwed up on me lol
