I would much rather have an alternator designed for idle output rather than top end output. x2. Gimme 180 amp idle with 270 max vs a 110 amp idle with 370 max. (just took a stab in the dark with numbers). 99% of time, idle is what you shall aim for. Depends on situation but almost always, idle is the number you want.
