I think i got it right this time.

12x20x12 exterior with a 10.5H x 0.75W X 17L port gives me 0.7ft cubed net @ 35 hz, if i'm looking at this Torres program right.

My only concern with this design is port noise, not sure if it will be an issue with the 3/4" width of the port?

Ah! So close!! You want to have a port ratio no greater than 1:8. But other than that its good. There is always at least one variable that makes a box hard to design. And this time it happens to be port ratio and port area per cubic foot try to stay around 13 +-1. That's when it's difficult. Anyways good luck! And happy designing!

SD, thank for the input. I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

Close counts in horseshoe's, handgrenades and now ported box design.

Really though, honestly how much better could i get it?

Should i use anything like polyfill in a box like this?

I have only built a couple of sealed boxes this ported stuff seemed like witchcraft to me up until not to long ago.

Honestly you would be surprised. But the best way to learn is from experience so just build it and if you like it, sweet! If not, back to drawing board to get more exact answers!

That RE calculator produces way different results than Torres.

All the same numbers and RE says it will be tuned to 32 hz.

I'll sneak one more question in here.

How important is having a sub-sonic filter in this ported configuration?

The amp this will be powered with has a 15 hz 24db/oct. filter do i need a higher frequency LPF?
