Need help re: scion xb enclosure for 2 15" subwoofer

Hi guys! I am cleng from the philippines. This will be my first own built enclosure. I hope someone can help me out for enclosure plan and cut sheet.

Here are some details and equipments i will be using.

Vehicle : Scion xB

Subwoofers: (2) JL AUDIO 15W0 SVC 4 ohms ver 1

Amplifier: Lightning Lab 1500.1 ( China Brand )

How I visualize the enclosure when done

When you lift the tailgate, you'll just see a false wall to cover the rear part of the enclosure. Trunk space will be accessed by folding the rear seat. I would rather sacrifice rear view, because i can always put a rearview camera. I can't lose my trunkspace because I will be installing an air suspension in the future and need the space for the tank.

I have plans of upgrading my subwoofers and amplifier in the future. I'm looking at DD1515A Dual 2 ohms or anything similar subwoofer. I just want to use the system that I have right now and make it sound better. As you can see in the photos, my box is sealed and the design looked old

Those will need 3.75-4 cubes net ported and are 150W, I would never spare 4 cubes net to a 150W sub.

you have plenty of room for 8cubes for 2 15s....you might want to reconsider your designs and go with what somebody here would recommend, you also have an amp that's rated for 1kw at @2ohm for 2 subs that combined are rated to handle 300w...this has blown woofers written all over it...

why even go thru all that work for those 2 drivers... NOT WORTH IT! Get drivers that actually make noise, not whisper in the air

I understand all your concerns, regarding the design since i have future plans of installing an air suspension so i need room for the tank, compressors and other air components. I also have plans of upgrading the woofers to atleast 600 watts.

If you have future plans I would think long term, see what space are you going to need for the air suspension stuff and start from there, I can tell you that a couple of 12" subs 1000W each would be way louder and play lower than your current setup and would only take 4 cubes net (vs about 8 cubes to do ported for those subs) and you would probably still have enough space to install your suspension stuff.

I've been thinking of not using the 15's anymore. I'm looking to get 2 12's. The brand is KINETIC. It's made in Taiwan. I'll be going to a shop tomorrow who caries this brand so he could demo it for me. I still plan on going with the design I posted to have room for the Air Suspension in the future.

Thanks for pointing me to the right direction. You are right, I should be thinking LONG TERM. I hate to rebuild my box when the time comes for the Air Suspension install. I think lifting the enclosure to look like a "Half Wall" will give me enought trunk space for the tank and the groceries. This is my daily ride.

The F3 of that subs seem somewhat high at 40Hz, make sure you can get parameters or box recommendations for them before buying them, could be the type of subs made for loud rather than low.

I also noticed that 40hz too. Would that be a big difference say compared to 20hz?

I can also get these in 12's or 15's. 15' if it would fit and still have trunk space if not, 12's will be ok.
