Joshua Dumas
I currently have 2 rockford fosgate p2d2 subs hooked up to a kenwood kac9105d amp. I have them in a ported box tuned to about 33hz. Im looking into upgrading the amp because this one has been nothing but trouble for me. it constantly cuts out on just about everything at random times. it can hold some notes and not others so im just ready to get rid of it. Im thinking of upgrading to a rockford fosgate t1000 http://www.amazon.com/Rockford-Fosgate-Power-T1000-1BDCP-amplifier/dp/B003AILWGK/ref=sr_1_3?s=car&srs=2530319011&ie=UTF8&qid=1367363121&sr=1-3&keywords=rockford+fosgate or a t1500 which is $517 on amazon. is there any other amps that put out around that kind of power for better prices? or any other recomendations? im on a relatively tight budget but i have some cash to spare. 500 is about the limit. Thanks for any help

Just make sure u have the electrical to back up 2-2.5k of power wiring to 2 ohms, that amp should work fine. otherwise he'll fuck the woofers up at half ohm LOL. they're only 400rms a piece. Miguels
from what you posted i know why your amp keep shutting down. you have 2 dual 2 ohm subs. i bet they are wired at .5 ohm.. wire them to 2 ohm and you wont have that issue anymore.... not unless you dont have the electrical my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
Miguels
if youre running that amp at half ohm im willing to bet you are also clipping it. i have ran the lanzar cheap amps at lower recommended load and didnt have any issues. you need the proper electrical to run the amps more efficiently my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
Joshua Dumas
i dont have the electrical for that haha. but the 1200 watt amp has got me interested. i have the subs and amp wired to 2 ohms. maybe ill get the 2200 though and upgrade all the electrical over time
Aidan Hansen
You really don't need something as powerful as that 2200 to push those subs. A DC 1.2k, SQ 1200, or something similar would be enough for those subs. ^Vehicle log to come soon for this.^
Joshua Dumas
ill look into it more. im just looking to get rid of the cutting out.
Joe X
It's better to shoot for higher end gear as one may need it later... it's just a question of setting up the amp correctly to avoid damaging the subs.
Joshua Dumas
internals of the current kenwood kac 9105 d amp. i even grounded it to the battery of the car and its still cutting out. its properly wired to 2 ohms. i think its just a bad amp. im still looking into buying a better amp but i havent decided yet.
