just installed my system in my reg cab s10. It doesnt even make the rearview mirror move. I have a MA audio 4ohm dvc 8 inch sub woofer in a sealed .51 cubic foot box. Running off a Kenwood KAC-8105D 1000 watt mono amp. i have no voltage drop. the sub is wied down to 2ohms. I know its only an 8 inch sub but i was expecting it to be louder.

First off that is a 500w @ 2-Ohm amp so that could a reason.

Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

Also your box could be a reason. Post up the specs of it, or if you have it the torres would be great.

play with box position. might switch to a ported box. rms of subwoofer? how much power are you pushing to it? Not what it says on your amp but actual numbers.

it's an 8" sub, you can only do so much with a single 8" sub, especially on just 500 watts.

Dont worry to much. I have a single cab s10 with 2 sundown audio sd-2 12s - sealed. Running 500 watts and it barley moves my mirrors. it hits pretty hard tho

2012 Ram 3500. HTT 2nd Gen manifold Swap, HTT s465 Turbo, FASS 150, 6" S&B Intake, 5" TBE, RaceMe programmer, 8 inch tip (dumped over axle) 20x12s on 35s, 6 inch lift, Color match & haloed headlights, 30" lightbar flush mounted in bumper.

2 Sundown audio SD-2 12s and a Soundqubed Q1-1200d amp.

sorry missed the link you posted. Normally I wont do this but if its possible try and get your money back and buy this http://www.amazon.com/SA-8-D4-Sundown-Series-Subwoofer/dp/B003ZWL90U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1367896980&sr=8-2&keywords=sa-8

Dont take this the wrong way but you probably wont get much more from that 8. No matter what amp or box you throw at it. Im not talking shit and this is honestly the first time I have told somebody on here to get rid of what they are running.

i know the amp is 500 at 2 ohms. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3476_MA-Audio-MA80XE.html That is the sub i am running te specs say .5 cubic feet max for a sealed enclosure so hat is wahht i built my box too.

When looking at a sub completely ignore the max wattage on it. only look at the RMS of it. I wouldn't say that sealed is bad, because I've ran a sealed enclosure before but a ported enclosure has lot better blows.
