OrionStang
Was wondering if there are any tricks to making a copy of a wood piece, out of fiberglass. I want to make an exact replica of this wood trim panel out of glass. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
ALPINE408
Do want it to be just as thick as the wwood all fiber glass or like a fiberglass plate? Have you ever had your woofers blown?
OrionStang
It will be the main part of sealing off the trunk, so I am thinking 1/8"-1/4" thick to be strong enough. I am definitely still a glass novice, so if I am off on this, let me know. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

OrionStang
cant u just glass over the wood then sand it down to fit where u want it ? Not really. The wood piece is a very tight fit. Glassing around it would make it not fit. Then sanding it down to make it fit would take it back down to the wood. ALPINE408
You can cover the wood in blue painters tape or aluounmim foil fiberglass the front and all sides of the piece with mat a few coats let dry pull the wood out cllan tappe and or foil you now have a mold of that piece I hate glass so I'm no expert but that's what I would do Have you ever had your woofers blown?
