Civic Wall Build, Destorys Windshield w/ 4 Sundown sa 12's on 1 Crescendo Audio 5500

Recommended Posts

Here is a video on me doing 151.3 with only 1 of my 2100's. The other one was blown at the time :( I'm back and running with 4k now though, haven't metered it yet.

How many cubes after displacement is your wall?

hey havent been on here in awhile, with the 2 9.875" aero ports @34hz its about 10.28 cu.ft after displacements. and with the 1 12" aero @28hz its at about 10.94 cu.ft after displacements.

First off the build is pretty fucking sweet. Rarely do I make comments on build threads but your wall construction is nice and tight.

Also speaking from experience that box is too big for 4 sa12s. I ran 4 sa12s for almost two years and they were in 6.8 cubes with 6 4" aeroports. The numbers are in the SIG and it was done in a no wall setup.

I don't honestly think you should shrink the box since its a wall but it is too big. So my suggestion then is to add woofers to the equation.

Also with those two 9.875" ports you have waaaaaay too much port area. That comes out to be around 15sqin of port per cuft and with an aeroport you should be in the 7-13 sqin per cuft range, with any thing above 13" being for purely SPL.

If you added 2 more woofers in the 10 cubes or so that is available that would give you 1.66 cubes per woofer. Then on that note you would be perfect at doing 10sqin per cuft (would need a 100sqin port) to increase your scores and have a straight up banging daily ride. You have a great start and with a little help it could be much louder.

If you are dead set on only running 4 12s some work can be done. Mostly the port area to cuft ratio needs a bit of work. Shrinking the box a little but not too much will help as well. Pm me if you want some more info.

Good job so far though!

pretty much this build was for low power daily setup not caring about scores, so having a bigger more efficent enclosure definatly makes all the difference. im sure if we did 1.66 cu.ft per sub on 2k it wouldnt be any where near what we did score lol.

Well, if the owner didn't care about numbers at all why did he even meter the car and post the results in the thread? Also what was the reason for removing the sunroof for a low power daily setup? Sorry to say but only 4k on 4 12's in that wall isn't going to do a thing to the sunroof. So my interpretation of the situation was he was preparring to get louder and I was offering advice on how to do so. Keep it the way it is I don't care, just thought I would give some of my knowledge to help out but since you are far more experienced on the matter enjoy not having the system operate to it's full potential.
