Agreene Posted May 28, 2013 Report Posted May 28, 2013 hey guys i got a 2000 subaru impreza 2.5 rs... and i want to lower it,,, never done this so i know nothing... the back of my car is already lowerd a bit.. do i just need front drops or all 4... not looking to spend a whole shit tone.. but i want something that it good... i dont want to be draging on the floor but i want it to be noticeably different. my car
BeatBox Posted May 28, 2013 Report Posted May 28, 2013 maybe try looking into the subaru forums and see what works best if your trying to stay cheap i think some decent lowering springs should work for you if you want a nice drop and ride, some coil overs will do the trick but they arent cheap...atleast the good kind

But they aren't cheap at all. what he said ^^^ for about $200 you should be able to get some nice sport springs with about a 1.5-2" drop. Replace your stock ones and be on your way. Or you can spend 5 times that and get some decent coilover's. Both should work but the coilovers will be better of course. Your GC8 is obviously an older car, so Im sure the struts have quite a few miles on them. I dont want you to blow them out. Im currently in your position and am buying coilovers. My other realistic option is new struts and lowering springs. The reason why Im going with lowering springs is because once I get struts and springs, Ill be around the same cost as coilovers. One other thing to think of is whether or not you need new adjustable control arms (for camber) or toe arms (for toe lol). Those will be an additional cost. For me at least, they arent cheap. x91evo Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 Never ever put lowering springs on any carThey bounce all over the road lol!I would say do it right the first time and then you never have to worry about it again.Look up Fortune AutoThey make a lot of great full rebuild-able coilovers for a reasonable price, and are based in USA so if you ever need any parts to service them they are around.

But many quality ones actually tend to ride stiffer than stock.. less travel.
