Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are! I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating! Saw this in their latest vid @ 1:40 the dash mesh inserts he did is pretty much how mine will be... oh well min will be more flush than that but same idea! Got all the pieces done just need to do some trimming and gluing and some more kitty hair but I'll work on that tomorrow because I spent all day building some boxes for my buddies extended cab, worth it though need some extra cash! Trimmed up the dash and the vents the rest of the way. testing painted them all black Finished the rest of the body work on the speaker pods in the dash, spent most of a day getting it close to perfect, still not perfect but its good enough to be textured Getting the paint and texture on with these plastic adhesive promoter 2 coats as recommended one light then one heavy! Textured and paint done...did 2 more coats after this one because the bottom black texture was making it keeping it too dark, also placed those new vents in just to see how they looked, I like um'. fyi the dash isnt sitting how it will in the truck its flexed down in the middle due to lack of support so Ill hang it from the ceiling and let it rest naturally before I glue these in and apply more kitty hair so they will sit in there almost perfectly but in this pic they are not perfect. better look at the vents. and a closer look at the texture. Also got my SMD shirt in, covered it in bondo dust tonight lol broke it in personal option....check! So yeah vent pieces glued in place, had some glue run down on one of them...kinda sucked but maybe I can fix it. anyhow Wierdly those vents are solid black and the dash color is "dark pewter" but its very hard to tell, maybe when its out in the sun and has the actual black vent that come up to it it will look more two tone but right now they almost look the same color...wierd...oh well Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. goodvibez Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 todays project. comparison parts added were the black bracket a few factory bolts and a factory pulley. All from my local gm dealer. Since the dmax can come directly from the factory with dual alts Running voltage...this is obviously with no system. I expect it to drop quite a bit with those extra d2700's hooked up and 10k of dc amps hooked up! Old belt was cashed haha good thing I got a new longer factory belt. Still have more to work on today....taking a break.. I was hoping someone would notice in my title change that I had decided my center console needed 10k power Came with some sweet TM goodies Couldn't resist putting them in hehe... Who knows I may decide its too much wire back there and not use them but I really want to....do I need to?...no...I'm not trying to put up crazy numbers or else I would have a different set up. Not saying this wont be loud but I doubt it will break windshields lol thank goodness! The only reason I would use them is because it was part of the deal and because I can so yeah... gonna be a while till they are set up...but when they are I think you will be very suprized at what I'm going to do to them Trust me it's going to be different...something I've never seen...............yet!
