goodvibez Posted July 3, 2014 Report Posted July 3, 2014 well started back on the console. got it all ca glue together enough to wher I could pull it out and get to putting in some more strength but it came apart completly Sooo pissed I had to stop and leave it for the night! all because from box to console it a slight trapazoid and when you pull the mid section strait up it wedges too tight then ...yeah no bueno but here is what it looked like. sooo close but now its in 6 pieces again...but got a 3 day weekend and Imma use it up on the truck...wanna get this playing for sotm but might not make the cut off for the entry...sweet prize! Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are! I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating! goodvibez Posted July 4, 2014 Report Posted July 4, 2014 Well got sick of being pissed off at my center console so I figured I would get started on my other 5k soooo this happened and its pretty close just a bit more wiring andstill need to cut off the original mounting feet, I think that should clean it up a bit. The instal the fuse holder in each one. Honestly I should have both 5k's finished by this weekend. Should have the amp racks for them finished as well. Hope to get center console done and then get wiring done in it. Pull box back out and start getting 360 wired up along with the mids and highs amps Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. But pretty much finished in cosmetically like the other one. Started wiring up gauges. had to shorted the temp probe on these because they come with like 10-12' and I only need a few inches. ok so wrapping these sucks! The first one I wrapped around all edges, this time I cut it back before it rounds over Then took a paint brush and painted the rest with some black paint...it was allot easier! but I also got the fan grills siliconed in so its pretty much in the same boat as the other one. still needs final wiring and to shave off the mounting feet! Then they are good for lift off! scooter99 Posted July 6, 2014 Report Posted July 6, 2014 Looks great, I love it, and not to sound nit pickey or anything, but I am a little OCD as you know, but I would actually route those wires in a way that it doesn't go over top of all those coils. Maybe along the top then down. But that's just me, you may already have that planned and I'm jumping the gun in which case my apologies. I do love the look though! Bad ass! goodvibez Posted July 6, 2014 Report Posted July 6, 2014 Haha Yeah I'm probably gluing them up to the plexiglass tucked away so you can see them, like behind the trim panel...they were like that just because I had to take the plexi on and off a few times for measuring and test fitting so no point and getting it perfect each time lol! But Yeah I imagine those coils will melt the wire...dont want that even with fans circulating air over them I dont think it would keep them cool enough. But its all good. Going to try and get them both temp wired to light up and have the meters sweep today...think that might be cool to see them both...we will see!
