I have to move my deadline up I need to get this playing before next friday...girl moved back home fore the rest of the summer so I gotta make the trip up there this weekend :/ but oh well should have some tunes along the 3 hr drive that also means she aint here so more time working on the build...yay...dont tell her I said that tommylee lol! any way worked a bit during lunch and had to go to home depo and ace to find a router 45degree bit...then as soon as I used it found my other one....fml haha oh well not I have a bigger one! but did that and used some hammered silver paint should make the guages pop...gluing the guages behind this and bihind a slightly tinted plexi so they arent so bright at night, I excited for it to be wired up this weekend and get the mids and highs tuned...soo expect more updates Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are! I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating! goodvibez Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 ok soo this took a long time but it was well worth it I think it came out looking awesome! here is the middle section of the console finished up And now I start on the main part of the console made my cut out and 45'ed then painted for when the ac controls will eventually go for now I'll just wrap some more cf on mdf and glue it in and maybe get a decal with goodvibez on it or something lol Then wrapped it, and started the surgical sutting of the farbon fiber...this was tricky but overall I think I did a pretty good job...really hard not to mess it up or cut too deep into the wood, still need to go back with like a marker and cover up the white of the fabric or something thats the only part thats kinda irritating about using vinyl is if you show any cuts the whit fabric underneath is visible oh well This is them just sitting kinda how they will in the truck should look better once inside but you get the idea Also trimming where the gauges go was reeealy tricky, I dont know how they came out as clean as they did, not perfect but I was expecting allot worse result, not much a wrap guy/upholstery. tomorrow I should have this and my 360.3 wired up and move onto mids and highs..maybe this time tomorrow they will be playing...fingers crossed! goodvibez Posted July 13, 2014 Report Posted July 13, 2014 Thanks man Yeah I feel ya on the switches, for one the cover you flip up to get to the switch hanges over too much where the guages will go so I think I may invest in some of those switches you had in your car the blue illuminated ones, think they would go good with the gauges as well...side not the middle switches light up when on to remind me to turn them off lol...like my back up led's so I dont drive around blinding people haha! But to day was just one long day of wiring, rca's, speaker wiring, 360.3 cables and got it all situated and am at the point where I need to hook up the laptop and set my 360.3 up so I can start setting the gains...soo by tomorrow mids and highs will play! might even get the smd guages put in as well Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. Sounds good to the ear-o-meter and according to my dd1+ its clean...but honestly I think its a bit over powered so I may tune it down a bit before I go full tilt..never turned it up past 22 of 29 so there is some fine tuning for sure mids band passed for 100-3500hz then highs go from 3500+ I think the slope was 36db soo yeah I'm stoked Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it.
