masterbusa2 Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 Okay my friends just started getting into Spl and stuff, Im trying to explain to him hes runnign two 4" Boss Super tweets those huge ones, and 2 Pioneer 4ways 6x9 and 2 Pioneer 3 way 5x4, also adding 2 more Precision Power 6x9's, Im trying to explain to him that his factory deck wont push them and sound clear. can someone help me bring up good points as to why he should go ahead and get an amp for them, he has 2 Crossifre xs v.2 15's on a Bc3500, in a s10, Needless to say you cant even hear his highs currently. anyone got some good points I can bring to his attention. smoe "Pros" so to speak I can show him the thread.
Neckbeard Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 The HU at max will push 40 watts per channel. That is no where NEAR what it takes to be able to hear your mids and highs when you start adding a lot of bass. IF he doesn't get a amp for them, there is no reason to speak to him any more. Build log, Super slow!!: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/168096-slow-neckbeards-1970-opel-gt/
ChevyBoy95 Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 honestly, let him do it, be disappointed and then fix it. words won't change someone's mind who is dead-set, they will have to face it themselves. edit: plus HU's put about 10-15w rms per channel, or a total of 40-60w. He is going to be running essentially say 500w rms worth of mids/highs. so they will at best be getting 10% of their rms power. honeslty i would go with some PA's instead of a bunch of cheap coaxial 6x9s and 5x4's. masterbusa2 Posted June 5, 2013 Author Report Posted June 5, 2013 See thats the thing is he thinks it sounds fine the build is already complete just need to add the PP 6x9's, I just needed some re assurance for myself that it will sound better and to show him the "Pros Know" haha xD
BoomZoom808 Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 Is he wiring them in series? If not get your camera out so you can get the look on his face when they blow. 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON 12
masterbusa2 Posted June 5, 2013 Author Report Posted June 5, 2013 They are all wired into the stock harness currently, and the 6x9's and 5x4's he picked with a mind set. I was wanting him to get some Crescendo Compnent sets xD, so Reccommendations on a small amp to power them doesnt have to be anythign extreme just a basic amp.
BoomZoom808 Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 Does he already have a factory system with 8 speakers and a factory amp? He might be able to make it work if he does. What kind of budget are you looking at for the amp? 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON 12
masterbusa2 Posted June 5, 2013 Author Report Posted June 5, 2013 Nope no factory amp. Pionneer H/u, and cheap cheap he already doesnt belive me. lol
OrzechNJ Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 he got ~ 3000watt of bass and he doesnt know that he has to use mid/highs amp.. sometimes Loud is NOT pretty Sounds like its safe to go ahead and bend that ass over.
BoomZoom808 Posted June 5, 2013 Report Posted June 5, 2013 Yea your not going to find a cheap amp that will keep up with 3000 watts 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON 12
