Clarence Joseph Sales Posted June 12, 2013 Author Report Posted June 12, 2013 I might go with this design I forgot to give the measurement from the point of the 45's to an imaginary line through the port's entry is 3". Hope you can chime in with my design's pro's and con's
Clarence Joseph Sales Posted June 12, 2013 Author Report Posted June 12, 2013 its 5.5-7cuft per chamber (box for 2 subs). i would do the design in #1 so that the ports will be at the top of the car along the roof but i would drop the volume down to 7cuft and that will help make it easier to get the port volume up to 14-15" per cuft. or if you want to do option #2 i would stack on box on top the other so that the port would be going up and down in the middle of the car. once again though get the volume down closer to 7cuft and that will help make it easier to get to the 14-15" per cuft Got it sir... Hope you can checkout my new design
Clarence Joseph Sales Posted June 12, 2013 Author Report Posted June 12, 2013 If you have 2 chambers then each chamber need to be 5.5-7cuft. 5.5-7cuft per sub or per enclosure? ( 1 enclosure holds 2 subs) i'm leaning towards design 2 ( 2 subs port in between the subs) what can you say about the results in torres that i made? its 5.5-7cuft per chamber (box for 2 subs). i would do the design in #1 so that the ports will be at the top of the car along the roof but i would drop the volume down to 7cuft and that will help make it easier to get the port volume up to 14-15" per cuft. or if you want to do option #2 i would stack on box on top the other so that the port would be going up and down in the middle of the car. once again though get the volume down closer to 7cuft and that will help make it easier to get to the 14-15" per cuft Might not be able to make design 2 sit on top of the other coz the width is 40" and my trunk's width is only 38" max. I'll try to fix the design 1 and try to drop it close to 7cuft and adjust port area close to 15" per cuft. Do i need a powerful amp to make a 7cuft loud compared to 8cuft? I asked because at present i only have a single 1500.1 driving all 4 subs but i have plans of adding another 1500.1 in the future
alaskanzx5 Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 if you plan on over powering them then it being smaller will help with the mechanical limits of the sub. i mean you could build a big box for while you run just a single 1500.1 but once you get a second 1500.1 you will be overpower the subs a bit so you should consider building a smaller box at that point. or you can just do a smaller box now and not build another when you get the second 1500.1. in other words yes to get more output from a smaller box you will need more power but if you dont want to build a wall tear it down and then rebuild it agian when you get a second amp then just build it once. then when you get the second amp your ready to go. its all trail and error, no one can say for sure if those subs will like 4cuft each or 3cuft each. no one can say if they will like the extra power in a bigger box or a smaller box. the most some one can say is what they would. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
Clarence Joseph Sales Posted June 12, 2013 Author Report Posted June 12, 2013 Got it... I might just build it at 3.5 cuft / sub since most of i know how uses it builds it at 3.5 cuft / sub. How do i compute the displacement of the 45's i made? Is there a calculator for it?
alaskanzx5 Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 not sure on the 45s ive never had to do it before. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
Clarence Joseph Sales Posted June 14, 2013 Author Report Posted June 14, 2013 I'll be building the box hopefully this coming week, thanks for helping out alaskanzx5 and the others too. I'll soon be posting in yhe build log section

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

alaskanzx5 Posted June 14, 2013 Report Posted June 14, 2013 ... well.... I did know that formula... now I just feel stupid... t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
