Dude, no worries. I'm nut the biggest Pioneer fan, but I try not to be a hater either. I've just always had great luck with Kenwood. As far as components go, a buddy of mine runs the Skars and he is very happy. I believe he runs the Skar 85.4 to them as well front and rear.

As far as the RE tweets, I ran these:

I am considering the rf and the hifonics. Maybe the skar depending on what ill be running. Id just like front fill thats clean loud and has midbass. Im crossed at 80hz hp and lp at 100hz because my speakers are just shit on midbass and distort if I add bass to them. Im running on more rear fill than anything. And can you suggest something around $200- on the hu in the exclelon lineup?

To get a nice Kenwood, your gonna need an 800-900 series, depending on what year you look at. I believe OrionStang had a nice high end Kenwood unit for sale.

X89,X96. All of the a Kenwood units are nice that are eXcelon. All have 4V outs on them. It's go with something that hat the 24 bit DAC OR time alignment like the 800-900 series HUs.

My last deck was a double din eXcelon DDX-896 and it was glorious until my truck was broken into and it was stolen.

Ok ... you have an operational system now ... We just have to improve on that !!!

First think I would do if it was mine would be to get you a pait of imageing tweeters (with protective passive crossovers) and install them either up on your A-pillars or your sail pannels and simply tie them in with your door speakers to get you a feel of a broader sound effect ...

Kenwood / HELIX / Linear Power (For The Love Of Music) / Brutal Sounds / OverKill Electric Co

Next thing I would do would be to take you door pannels apart to deaden and seal them up as best as possible and install you a nice set of midbass drivers in there (please run all this on radio power until everything is done, then worry about amplifiers, crossovers, time alignment, ect ....

At this point you should be able to save up more money for something like a better headunit and front stage amplifier ...

BTW ... I'm more partial to Kenwood headunits also ... I run the DNX9980HD.

Randal, I've always had wood over that HU, I just never needed the nav portion. It was loaded with tons of other goodies though that I was in love with.

Thnanks man ... Yea, its a nice reliable unit. There is a couple of features I wish it had, but for the most part it definately does the trick ...

Could you explain this a little more? Like what get and how to do it? The tweets and midbass. Maybe $175 for a set. I don't wanna go past that at this point. Maybe bump that up if I get a job. Thank you guys so much for trying to help me with what I have.

Sure ... Get two small diameter "all thread" bolts approx. 3 to 4 inches long. Carefully bend them into a 45 degree angle ... drill a hole in direct middle of your sail pannels and use 2 nuts (one inside and one outside) to connect one end of the bolt to your sail pannels, this will give you pedestals for your tweeters. then connect your tweeter bowls on the outer end of the bolts with 2 nuts. then install your tweeters ... If you are sitting in your drivers seat, your right tweeter should be aiming DIRECTLY at your right ear. And your Driver side tweeter should be aiming at your passenger's left ear ... This alone should give you MUCH more sound and also give you a presence of a stage and image ... and get fairly loud too !!!

Best thing about this setup is that you can adjust your tweeters accordingly just by moving the bolts up and down to center thing up where needed before all the fiberglass / installation work is done ... Mine stayed set up this way about 4 months while we were testing and tuning ... Oh !!! And if you decide to use the A-pillars instead of the sail pannels, this option works the same way, and this would be needed if you needed dash insturment clearance or sterring wheel clearance or something ...
