Forevrbumpn Posted February 19, 2008 Report Share Posted February 19, 2008 I was bored, and had some cash from tax refunds, and a ugly entertainment center that has been a serious eye sore to me I did some shopping at my favorite woodshop store over the weekend, got some goodies, router bits, and a small jasper circle jig. Woodcraft FTMFW!! Quality router bits for only $12-15 for the common kind, I actually saved a few bucks there, than spending more than I thought I would spend. I had bought a new router set from Sears a couple weeks ago, and I finally get to let loose on it with this entertainment system, lots of curves, roundovers, perfect holes, ect ect So here are the pics starting from about 1/3rd way done I have more sanding, some filling of 2 small cracks, hardly even noticeable ( want this to be perfect, I plan on selling it when I get a bigger tv) The LCR speakers will be installed in this tv stand, it will be right below the tv, hidden, it will just look like a nice clean brass, or stainless steel grill that wraps around the tv stand (still gotta design that) under the tv will consist of 6- 4" mids, and 3 tweeters. While I own this, I will still have my big boy front stage speakers for more of a realistic, powerful sound to it, the speakers on the tv stand may just act as extra front stage fill in, more than likely a more realistic sound. So, enuff, on with the few pics I have I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I might change some things in the enclosure between the tv stand and tv, since I do basically have atleast 5" tall, 46" wide, x 23" deep, thats pretty roomy... This this is a LCD tv, and there is alot of extra room here, foot print is dwarfed from the rest of the tv stands surface... Possibly to much left over room for them BRAVOX 4"s what about 1-8" subwoofer, or like 4-6.5" subwoofers as mid bass? IT WOULD work, and still be stealth like.... At least in terms of the multi-color fader and smooth transitions-siick. Either of the midbass combos you mentioned would work I'd think...I'm a fan of symmetry (sp?) of all the visible stuff but as long as it's hidden, 1-2-3-8? its all a matter of what you have room and power to run. I plan on adding some surround sound and sub stage for my folks setup-which is essentially a 42" flat plasma with a pretty BIG enclosure built around it to make room for Audio components/reciever/dvd player on top along with the cable reciever. It's basically just a big ol enclosure built to fill the corner of the room and creat e some shelf space on top.. since yours is actually gonna house the speakers, It's really just a matter of how loud you want/need it and the speakers/power you have to work with. I'd prolly do a big sub or 2 in the room, the 4-6 6.5's would be nice and the Bravox 4's sounds great... <--subscribed. Forevrbumpn Posted February 20, 2008 Author Report Share Posted February 20, 2008 http://www.zalmar.com/detail-Video-Televisions-6632LG.htm That one, but I didnt pay nearly that much, more like $600 But its a great tv, I work for Sears parts and repair, and I have talked to atleast 3 TV techs who I have done inventory for in the past 2 weeks, and they say those tvs are great, they are just a screen and boards from another major company, and seems like most of the flaws are worked out only problem I have is, not enuff inputs, or features, its pretty plain in that area I have a ritual called "terminator". Forevrbumpn Posted February 20, 2008 Author Report Share Posted February 20, 2008 Some updated pics here I lied about the speakers, looks like Iam doing all vifa, 2- 6.75" Vifa mids, 3 Vifa tweeters, and 2 Vifa 4"s I know at first glace the design will look all wacky and compressed, but this may not be for me, Iam just trying this out... I know it will look good, and sound awesome already, I know these speakers very good, the best sound quality speakers you can buy at an affordable price range So the 4"s are the center 6"s right and left The center will have its own enclosure, .20cf if I remember right, and then the 6.75s about .7 cf each side.... Iam just winging this as I go, taking notes, and making templates, incase I make a few more Man, Iam sure I had some pissed neighbors tonite, using a router over and over for like 2hrs tonite from 845-1045pm wheeewww I have a ritual called "terminator". Forevrbumpn Posted February 20, 2008 Author Report Share Posted February 20, 2008 the center channel is just the 2-4"s and tweeter in the middle This whole design was based on LCD tvs, and space saving sound I always do my front stage spaced out so when something is going on, you can hear the sound move, but you always see demo pictures, or displays with front stage right by the tv. And a few years ago, Infinity made a speaker system that sat on top of a tv, and hung off the sides- It was gay IMHO So this way its hidden, and a little wider than the 32" wide infinity offered and the speakers are alot better quality I have a ritual called "terminator".
