cjohnson547 Posted June 11, 2013 Report Posted June 11, 2013 So I scratched all previous ideas im gonna go with a blowthru for 3 sa 12s. I dont quite understand how to use Winisd so if someone could help me with a design i would greatly appreciate it. My max dimensions are 17H x 60W x 22D cut out would obviously be in the center 8 inches tall by what ever the width needs to be. I would like to start the cut out 3/4" up from the bottom.
Smoove Posted June 12, 2013 Report Posted June 12, 2013 I like the design, are you doing a 2 to 1 ? what are you planning to tune at ? How many cubes front and back ? 2 Team Fi 15's v1 2 DD M5's 970amps of Alt 6th order blowthroughThe truck Blowthrough build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/155555-smooves-1996-chevy-ext-cab-c1500-slow-build/The 350z build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/170694-smooves-2003-nissan-350z/ My FB page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Smooves-Car-Audio-and-performance/719746144805343 Team Fi Audio http://www.ficaraudio.com/
cjohnson547 Posted June 12, 2013 Author Report Posted June 12, 2013 3 sealed 6 ported. Not sure what to tune to i was thinking 48hz. How does the sound change by tuning higher or lower? I messed up in the drawing on port size also see in issue in mounting depth how much would you recommend between magnet vent and box?
cjohnson547 Posted June 15, 2013 Author Report Posted June 15, 2013 So when doing a blowthru how big does the opening need to be to not be designed in a 4th order orientation?
98GCLimited Posted June 15, 2013 Report Posted June 15, 2013 You can mount the woofers with the magnets facing into the ported section if your mounting depth isnt deep enough in the sealed section. Also if you are looking to get the most out of it tune your ported section to your sealed resonance.
cjohnson547 Posted June 15, 2013 Author Report Posted June 15, 2013 Ok i will look in to that im just not very fimiliar with box programs.
cjohnson547 Posted July 3, 2013 Author Report Posted July 3, 2013 At what point does the port area get large enough that a blow thru is not considered a bandpass so i could build a normal ported enclosure???
dolarbilz Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 Thing you need to remember to not cutt whole to big for you don't ruin the cab strength..now if you can find somebody to design you a 6th order be way to go.. I have done blow through in my truck cutting whole very large just slide a ported box against bed sealed it up called it good it did work okay but cab flex issue was problem.that's why I said not cutt it big.
