people with a 2003 s-10 or similar... Question about box

my friend just got a 2003 s-10 extreme and for right now a 18" havoc is getting put in.. wondering the people with experience with these trucks what tunning do these trucks like? not worried about numbers for now..

also the nipple looking thing on the passenger side dash grill what is that tried googling it but couldn't come up with anything thought it was a tweeter but didn't notice one on the drivers side

the nipple thing is a light sensor for the auto-on/off headlights. There is a way to bypass it if you want with a simple resistor inline - the resistor value varies based on year, back to google for that.

I've got a 15" Fi BL in a 2002 extended cab Sonoma. It's tuned to 33Hz. It sounds great IMO. I'm seriously considering a blow through though. I HATE how much room is lost. I won't mount my amp on the box so it makes finding a big enough location pretty difficult.
