scooby57
I am starting this kinda late, but anyhow I will post and take through the build. I have some pics, but not a whole lot. (of the actual build) Started out, built a front console to house the 8" Kenwood touch screen, cup holders, air rider switches, compressor switches, ect.. I was going to look for just a little bass, all I wanted was to sound good and clear. I ended with a sub house that holds 4 10" Kicker L5's. First it was wrapped with vinyl.......then I decided I would rather have it all fiberglass and painted to match the truck. So I tore it all back down and re-did it. Here is some pics. And YES I did "clean up" all that wiring nightmare before I put everything back in. scooby57
is that piano paint?if so were did you buy it from?if not what is it?how much?ive been looking all over for piano or really glossy color... Nope, not piano paint. I believe its just auto paint with about 4-5 coats of clear on it. I would have to ask my painter to be sure. I did all the prep work and he took it and painted it. I dont have a sound clip right this min, but I will try tonight and post one. I have no idea what it would meter at, prob not to high, I would guess about 135ish, but i have nothing to compare to so I have no idea. I appricate all the great comments, this was my first fiberglass build. I spent alot of time on the front console part (about 30 hours) If you were to turn the console on its side and look down it, it is as flat as a pancake, no waves or anything. Same as the sub box. You cant really tell in the pics but the cup holders are "counter sunk" into it.
