Suggestions For A New AGM Battery? - "GM" Side-Post Style

Recommended Posts

I suppose I am now in the market for a better battery now. From what I am being told, an AGM battery is what I should be looking for ... it would be for the system below in my sig.

I would REALLY be most interested in what I would call a "GM" side-post style unit.

I Google'd "agm battery", & got quite a few results. Everything from nearly $300 XS Power to around $160 for a DieHard.

When it comes to batteries, I can get lost quick. Point me in the right direction? Any direction? A direction that is maybe under $200??

Thanks,

EDIT: I am looking for an underhood BATT that will run it all.

Dimensions? I do not know.

Here is a shot at a pic of what I have in there now: <a href="http://s1189.photobucket.com/user/Sutliff/media/Vehicles/2003%20Monte%20Carlo%20SS/Spring%202013%20Stereo%20Upgrades/20130602_134755_zps32b136e5.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1189.photobucket.com/albums/z440/Sutliff/Vehicles/2003%20Monte%20Carlo%20SS/Spring%202013%20Stereo%20Upgrades/20130602_134755_zps32b136e5.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 20130602_134755_zps32b136e5.jpg"/></a>

Would a Group 78 make sense for a stock-type BATT? It is an AutoCraft GOLD.

Whether or not you use them, I'd go to XS's website and find out the biggest batt you can fit. They have a vehicle application guide or whatnot. Then, it somewhat depends on you. XS is a good brand as I have a Kinetik and XS and when I swapped my 2nd Kinetik for an XS, I noticed a big improvement. But also it was a bigger battery. I have heard going to Sam's club or autozone and getting a diehard or whatnot that's cheaper than XS is the same. There's Northstar, where if you can find the right site, is a little bit more pricier (about $30 or so) than XS and I've heard nothing bad about them.

It's sort've up to you once you figure out how big you can go. But I definitely recommend going as big as you can go, not just what you can afford. Saves you from buying another battery later on to replace it because you didn't buy a big enough one before.

D3400 XS, with I-bar kit for side post batteries. I'm running that setup in my full-size GMC and it's perfect

Hmmm, ...

yes ^^ he is 100% correct.

if it was not stated before this would have been my suggestion. i have installed WAY too many of these and have nothing but good things to say about them.

quality battery you will get your moneys worth out of. i know it might be out of the desired price range but i will assure you that you will not regret the decision.

if you would like more info or anything on the 3400 or help with anything related to xs power you are more than welcome to send me a message and ill be happy to help you out man.
