So, being told the glue smell is somewhat normal. Has to heat up, scare the shit out of you, cool down, rinse and repeat a few times. Going to reset gain today just to be sure. If anyone has a known good tone track I'll take it :)

First of all, holy shit how have I not seen this thread before now?! Freaking amazing work all the way around, love the stained birch for the boxes. May have to steal that idea for the future (stained baffle, carpet the rest.) I just don't have words to do this build justice.

Secondly, if you're unsure of your gains I'd be amazed if someone in your area doesn't have a DD1 if you want to double check.

Any hope of getting you out my way towards New Orleans sooner or later (I know, it's a haul from San Antonio)? I'd love to see this thing in person.

Thanks man. Steal away, not like I was the first person to do stain :)

But I do love the look. I'll stain in every setup from now on. It's definitely more work to do, but dat finish.

I have an oscope, but thank you. It was just the test tone I was using that was questionable. I think I got it though.

I probably won't make it out to New Orleans, I'm basically local only. Farthest I would really go is Houston, or maybe somewhere along the Texas coast like Padre. Not even sure I'm gonna make it to Turkey Drag. I just don't trust this vehicle to not break down lol, and money is tight lately.

So I set with a -3dB tone to just before clipping on battery voltage. I should be fine to play anything this way and not clip at all. Just gotta break in the coil a bit.

I hate to tell you but that is the famous Tantric smell...It will go away after you beat on it for awhile.
