Stephen Dunnington
I found a quarter inch plate of aluminium, not sure if its 6061 silicon or 5052 magnesium but it's a nice piece I'd like to cut up and make Bus bars out of , now does it matter what exact type of metal you use? I'm thinking of how well it'll conduct.
UnderLoK
Not really when it comes to a bus bar, but the less conductive the more material you need. .25 is pretty thin for aluminum. For anything around 6kw you would want them to be a few inches wide at least. Personally I wouldn't use it. Go check out Cut2Size Metals, you could get aluminum in a more appropriate size for like $30 if that. If you are hell bent on using that material, then fire up your system for a bit and feel the bars. If they get warm at all they are too small and could easily melt down. If at first you do not succeed, you are doing it wrong! -ARSCheck out my walled TBSS build over here4 Fi Team 18s on 2 Cactus K9 DS18 doors on 2 MBQ 1Ks, Vifa pillars on a STL4.500 Pioneer X8500 6 XS Power D7500, 1 3400S Second Skin 2 270a Mechman Alts

Pioneerchuck
Yeah those will be fine for the power you're running. Should make it look a lot better too.
