Karkov
Starting to primer it inside and out just to seal it up. Made the box with 1 5/8" brad nails and over a half gallon of Titebond II. Every side is doubled up 3/4" MDF except the baffle which is triple layered and used 1" brad nails to hold the layers together as well as glue. Everything was clamped and weighted down, brad nails every couple inches and glue spread for 100% coverage. Now sealing it 100% inside and out this thing is solid as fuuuuu. Turned out to be 9.86 cubes net. That is taking actual measurements after it's built and AFTER port displacement and AFTER subwoofers displacement. 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. Karkov
Starting to carpet it, carpet matches my Tahoe. Used 3M Super 77 spray adhesive, still need to cover the ends. Also, will be building a amp rack for in front of it but will not be screwed to the box for vibration, it will be it's own entity. 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. CleanSierra
Box looks fantastic sir. Did you end up chopping and inch and a half off of the port length to mount the port flush against the inside of the box? Or did you cut the port opening on the outer walls of the box the outside dimensions of the port? I just wanted to know so there is good clearance from the port to the back wall of the box, AND we are tuned properly You built that thing VERY well and very pretty. I'm glad you are so detail oriented like myself. Can't wait till you can play some music through it Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. Karkov
I bought something else to play with... Ok, I got the 6 XS XP3000's in and the sub box in but this thing is already sitting so much lower than I thought it would. I already removed the spare tire and some other shit to shave weight, lol. I still have to put in the 2 subs (67 lbs. each) and 2 XS D3100's (75 lbs. each) and 1 XS D3400 plus prolly a spool or more of wire just connecting everything. Plus 5+ amps AND the amp rack, not including fusing and buss bars and all other little shit that adds up, will prolly have to add support air bags I guess. Stupid battery bank gonna make my little 2 sub setup make a full size SUV squat when it's done. Oh, and I am still waiting on the subs to come in, custom buss bars & fuse holder, Dual alt kit and alternator.....so yea......hope I am done by May 18th (*crosses fingers*) 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq.
