bigmescan
Yes I've switched rca's... Switched amps. Only thing I have switched is the HU... The problem goes away as soon as I replace PAC and maybe a week or a month problem comes back. Longest its gone is 2 months. An installer I know was thinking the resistors in the PAC get hot from the 5v being produced from HU and wearing it out. He said its just a theory cause he's dumbfounded as well. Right now I have the PAC unhooked and no rumble at all. The only way the rumble get louder is when I turn the nob up but goes away at max. AMI CUSTOMS
There isn't resistors in the PAC, it a rotary POT, variable resistor. It should be about to carry upwards of 32 volts AC, depending on the watt rating. AC signal thru RCA's is low amperage so voltage could be crazy high and not hurt that PAC device. Could just be the PAC device all together may need to look at your mounting location or doing something else with it. I know plenty of people who use them and have no problems. shoulinpanther
Sounds like interference of the electrical kind, make sure your RCA are insulated and the pac1 wires as well. And if they need to be rerouted away from power and ground wires do that. Of course this is just my guess.

bigmescan
Appreciate the help guys. Rca's are on pass side and power on driver. I need the bassknob when wifey drives with me. I'm ready to just rip out all wiring and start over. Bassknob is flush mounted to a piece of plastic. All you see is the knob. I've switched 3 sets of RCA's. Always have probs when I own a ford. ChevyBoy95
Ok guys here's the issue I'm having. I don't have a ground loop issue. I have a rubbling just from the subs. I have an eclipse 5030 5v preout. Doesn't matter what amp I use the problem still persists. I'm on my 3rd pac1 bassknob. When I'm at 0 on know rumble goes away. If I'm at max on bass knob problem goes away. Anywhere from minimum to max on the knob I get the rumble. Could the 5v preout be to much for the bassknob. This problem happened when I was running 3 sa8's off a rf power 1000.1 amp and my temp setup is a 500.1 JL amp on 2 w0 jl 10's. it is the knob. mine does it on my mids highs amp on the channels i have the pac lc-1 on, but regardless, the one i have on my sub amp doesnt do it. I think it is just the pick of the lot. bigmescan
I don't take it apart when I mounted it... Just push know thru hole and put screw on.. I've done the RCA's over the seat and does the same things. There's no way that all 3 PAC's are bad.. If so I need a diff brand of bass knob. 95neon_thumper82
Hate my damn phone. Know is Knoblove androids man what would happen if you were to put a toggle on your control line to the bass amp? just leave the bass amp off when she's with ya then soon as you hit the eject button on her seat you turn the bass amp on and enjoy the ride like its intended? this is what I did... it works perfectly... even got the red lighted toggle so I can see when I leave it on at night edited for : you could even run a fresh hot line from the battery... with an inline fuse ( my inline is 1 amp) the to the lighted toggle then to the control on the amp... trust... its nice for them pesky police too <img src=http://i1332.photobucket.com/albums/w610/beastly666bassboy/IMG_9611192581855_zps9b9b76be.jpg border=0 alt= height="75" width="800"> Growing old is necessary... growing up is an option!
