Car Alarm going off because of Windows open + Wind?

Recommended Posts

I've just found out that my car alarm has been going off like crazy whenever I leave the two front windows slightly open (1 1/2 inches). My suspicion is that the wind is triggering the two ultrasonic sensor in the front. When you guys install your car alarms, is there anything you do to avoid this or do you just leave your windows rolled up?

Is it a DEI? Depending on what sensor actually triggers the alarm, you press the lock button a different amount of times to turn off the sensor. Your lights will blink.

Check ur manual.

See, as you depicted in your post it seems like its a DEI,,,

And I think that's the main reason that the sensor actually triggering the alarm, or else I don't think there is any kind of problem,,

Why don't you try to call the dealer I think he would perfectly guide about this!!

I think your sensitivity is up too high. Mine is about 3/4 for it and i have the sensors mounted up in the top of my a pillar facing the rear and it can only go as far back as the c pillar. after that it doesnt pick up any motions but I don't worry about that since there is no way someone can move in the back where the sub and batts are. The glass shatter sensor on mine pick up all the windows. Mine is not sensitive to wind, even if I were to exhale loudly in the truck it won't set it off but if I wave my finger it will set it off. I think its only small differences in air pressure that set it off. If your windows are open then the sensor is useless unless you are right up to one of them tapping on them like a mic because they work off cabin pressure and it must be sealed up completely for them to work properly.
