80prs now in active mode

Recommended Posts

just got my 80prs set up in active mode. havent had more then 10-20 min play time on it but its sounds better already. i have a lot more tweaking and adjusting to do and it will take me days. im really liking the mute of different freq ranges so that i can listen to one specific range. helps a lot with trying to find the right balance.

anyways, point of this is to get pointers from anyone and everyone. not looking for sq but squeezing every little bit out of this hu would be nice.

t1500.1bdcp running 1 t2d415 set at 63hz with i think i went with a 16db slope

t400.4

tweets set at 4k up with a 24db slope

mids are set from 100hz-3.5k hz with a 24db slope.

any pointers would be great thanks.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

messed around with it a little bit more today. lowered the slope on the mids and highs some and got the eq a little more flat but to me sounding better.

changed the crossover points around a bit, sub is at 63hz with a 16db slope, mid is at 100hz 12db slope and 3.15khz 12db slope, tweet is at 4k 12db slope. lacing a little mid bass right now, going to quite down my tweets a bit to see if i can get the mids to stand out a bit more. i now im not getting much between 63hz-100hz right now but unless i decide to put in 8 in my door i wont be able to change that. the mids are there but the tweets seem to be drowning them out a little bit.

when adjusting an eq is it ok to go into the positives on it? i have always been told to stay at 0 or less to keep the signal clean.

you could turn the gain down on the amp for the tweets.... makes life easier than trying to EQ them down or cut them in the HU... just a suggestion

Pioneer decks dont clip unless you have everything turned way up at volume 62

dd-1 tested 62/62 no clip. so i guess that mean it would be ok for me to adjust the mids above 0 if needed.
