80prs now in active mode

Recommended Posts

lol talk about being post happy.

the punch pro 6.5" i have play great down to 85hz like rockford rates them for but anything less they lack in. i new this would be an issue. considering doing a shallow 8 sealed in the kicks or in the doors but if they are in the door they will be just about at my hip and make t/a harder to do.

a small 2 channel amp is all i would need, just enough to push 50-100rms to each sub if i do it im most likely gonna go with the punch 300.2 then use a splitter for the mid rcas and put the 6.5 on a passive x-over.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

I like the post. So active sounds much better, or is mainly more fun because there are more detailed settings? I have been pondering this, although I only have the one set of components and wouldn't have any rear fill. How do you have your setup? Just a front stage?

Also, my -2 db on my RF crossover just bit the dust so now I have my passenger side at 0 db and my driver side at -2 db because the tweeters are a little harsh...but since this happened TODAY...I am seriously debating on going active with just my one set of T1652-S on all 4 channels of my T600-4. Tweeters might not like that so much however..

doing an active setup allows you to better tweak it for better sq where as passive arent really adjustable and your stuck with the passive x-over settings unless you buy different passive x-overs.

Okay, I understand that part. Is there a much higher efficiency with active? Meaning, do passive crossovers take away much of the power being sent to them?

late response to this last post lol...

i dont know, that might be a question that depends on the whole setup rather then just the individual parts.
