Well, I found out how to post pictures finally! And I have a big enough system to be proud of, so I'll start a build log!

My up-to-date system includes the following:

'98 Chrysler Concorde LXI 3.2L V6

Pioneer DEH-80PRS

Rockford Fosgate T600-4

Rockford Fosgate T1652-S (components)

Rockford Fosgate T1693 (6x9s)

Rockford Fosgate T1500-1bdCP @ 4 ohms

Rockford Fosgate T1D215 15"

Custom built box designed by yours truely, 3.1 cu ft net tuned to 34 hz firing inside the cabin (36^2 of port kinda small but it works)

Kicker PKD1 wiring kit. (0 AWG)

Stock 130 amp alt and one yellow top Optima under the hood

I'm going to start with my earliest stuff first and work my way to the up-to-date portion. It is not the best install by any means, but isn't too bad..

Alright, so here is my first system ever, bought it when I was 14.

mysubs_zpsdb3d53e2.jpg

Here is the car that it was first in. This car was an absolute beater but ran amazingly! It was either an '89 or '90 Ford Escort wagon. I got it for free, as it was going to be used as a demo derby car but never made it that far.. This was purely an offroad car for messing around on my dad's farm...was a good time!

mycar_zps215c739e.jpg

I used to have pictures of the setup, but they must have gotten deleted..

But here is a link to a very old low resolution video of them in a sealed box in the Ford.

Then I found this sweet 'first' car. It is a '98 Chrysler Concorde LXI. A great car IMO.

Added my 2 12" RF subs in the sealed box and played around with that for a long time (until I was 18).

Image047_zps21e418bd.jpg

Next upgrade when I was 17 - 18 years old, I finally put in an aftermarket head unit (JVC KD-HDR60).

IMG_20110308_190225_zps5c7f63e7.jpg

Then came along woods class in my Senior year in high school. I really wanted to try a ported box and used that as my project. I made it about 3.4 cubes net with a 12x2" port tuned to 40hz (RF's recommended box).

The port does look a little small. But definitely not bad for a first system. If you like the way the box sounds, enjoy it. If you dont like it than build another box.

Next thing, I started trying eBay out and bought a few small things and worked my way up to the big stuff. One of the first purchases was a set of 6x9s, the T1693 set NEW for $48! I had to jump on it.. And I eventually put them in my car, of course without an amp so they were under powered for quite awhile..

After awhile, I thought to myself...I could try these 6x9s out on my Kenwood amp! (170rms per channel @ 4 ohms) And so I hooked them up to the speakers WHILE the car's stock amplifier was still hooked up...Yeah, I was a noob. Fried that amp and it scared the shit out of me seeing some smoke come out of the dash.. But wasn't a big deal...it put out about as much power as my JVC head unit did, so connected the radio directly to the speakers after that. Here are the pics..

IMG_20120330_220806_zps5d7cdabc.jpg

I've had some cheap l.e.d. strips under my dash and under my seats for awhile before that.

With having those powerful 6x9s back there, I started thinking to myself and thought I should upgrade my front speakers as well. I was originally going to go with the 6.5 coaxial 75rms from Rockford's T series, but ended up getting a great deal on a set of NEW T1652-S components.

IMG_20120611_200548_zps5bb736a9.jpg

As well as the woofer

IMG_20120612_011518_zps5c5be410.jpg

And since I knew which wires were which when I took the stock amp out of the car, I thought I'd use the location of that to put the crossovers and to connect the tweeters and woofers with the stock wiring...made it really easy.

Thank you! My small school finally got a little CNC machine and I copied the image in CADD while I was in high school.

I didn't realize how small it was until I joined this site. I haven't had that box in my car for about a year now. But it was definitely a good box...but was tuned to 40hz and was not good for the lows by any means..

But thanks for the input!

I bought this sub for $30 shipped to me, so I thought I'd try it out in the same box...which worked great! (P2D412)

IMG_20120708_152520_zps7ab23432.jpg

Upgraded my electrical from an RF 8 gauge to the Kicker PKD1 (0 & 4 AWG)

IMG_20120714_085756_zps8beccba4.jpg

IMG_20120718_174515_zpsa2f4ac7c.jpg

Then I really wanted to get ready for upgrading the best part...BASS! I purchased this T1500-1bdCP as a NEW/other and it was in perfect shape, just didn't come with anything else...which was fine with me as I got a fair deal on it.

IMG_20120828_163907_zps2ee5c28b.jpg

Comparing it to the Kenwood..

IMG_20120828_171400_zps6077bd49.jpg

Quick hookup and install on 2 P2 subs. (one older 250rms and that newer one, 400rms). Yes, I hooked two different subs up on one channel. It didn't hurt anything, nor did it heat the amp up... but was still a noobish thing to do.

IMG_20120831_203428_zps7df0921c.jpg

Long story short, the 250rms P2 didn't like seeing 500 watts very much. It lasted much longer than I thought it would!! Probably a good few months.

IMG_20121109_181240_zps9f0a6fdf.jpg

Here's a video link of what they could do before I blew that P2..

After that, I used the other sub that I wasn't using, and wired it to 8 ohms so nothing bad would happen and didn't play full tilt.

Next upgrade was the T600-4. I found a "display" model which looked pretty clean in the pictures, but once I received it...it looked used.

Built an amp rack when that came, just something simple.
