EKCASA
I have used a cap for years in my last two systems. I have always wired it inline between the battery and the amp with a fuse near the battery and the cap near the amps. I'm starting my next project and have been watching a lot of videos on dual battery systems and was wondering can I / would it hurt anything to run a cable from the battery to a dual input fuse block and the other input be from the cap wired to the alternator. Going to use 0gauge to the block and 3 4gauge outs to 3 RF 250w amps. SnowDrifter
That is a valid way to wire. How big are the caps? 2loud4uboyz
Just saying not being a smart azz. After being here for a few years. I got me a mechman alternator and 8 runs of zero,( four runs( + )and four runs (- ) front to back . And this didn't happen over night. I had 4 caps know I have 4 batterys. I hear good and I hear bad about caps. Not a tread jack, its just my 2 cents on this. Sale the caps and get a battery in the back.

SnowDrifter
According to the tests, a cap will help. You already have it... Keep it and use it. What does your voltage drop look like? Unless you are dropping to 12.8ish or below, a battery won't do anything for you http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR12.TRC2.A0.Xmaxwell+bcap.TRS0&_nkw=maxwell+bcap&_sacat=0&_from=R40 ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
