SnowDrifter
I'm worried about that voltage. No way you should be dropping that low with a 270a alt. Any way you can clamp the alternator to verify it's putting out? You HAVE done the big 3 right? Shigshwa
I'm worried about that voltage. No way you should be dropping that low with a 270a alt. Any way you can clamp the alternator to verify it's putting out? You HAVE done the big 3 right? Yes. 3 0 gauge wires. However, my engine to chassis wire may not be true 0 gauge, closer to 4. Is this the major issue? My charging voltage is surprisingly low, about 13.4V warm, 14 cold, but I believe that is ECM controlled. I would like to test my alt's output, but I don't have a clamp meter. Anyone know where to possibly rent one?
