I told him to just stop being a cheap ass and put an inboard 350 with an alternator on it and he can go crazy......he didn't see that as a feasible option though. :(

Why does it have to be a 350?! How about a nice 400? Let us say .030 over. :) F'n 350's piss me off. I'd rather see a 305 with a small streetcharger on it.

Based on your description of what he wants the best way I see to go is too add a seperate battery that will be sufficient enough to power a 4 channel amplifier and a headunit for a good 8 hours. Then after he gets home he can charge the battery up. Here is my suggestion for equipment on a budget.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_45120_Sony-CXSM2016.html =169.99

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_14919_MB-Quart-NKF-692.html =67.95

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_69263_MB-Quart-NA360.4.html =109.95

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_43959_XS-Power-XP2500.html =289.99 (could use a smaller battery but this would be the best bet for not being able to charge it)

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_68325_T-Spec-V6-4DAK.html =59.95 (since the runs to the battery will be short, this kit should be more than sufficient)

total=$697.83

to lower the cost he could subtract the amplifier and a much smaller battery to cut off about $200. i would start without the amplifier and see how he likes it. if its absolutely necessary for louder then add the amplifier and a second smaller battery.

SD, thank for the input. I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

It is my understanding that 350's are the easiest to swap into the inboard situation, they are the most flexible due to all the aftermarket options available to them, and in this case I offered it up as a solution as I had my old LS1 350 from a 96 impala at the ready to be used for it.

Starting with just a head unit and some speakers definitely seems to make the most sense.....see if he likes the output he is getting out of it before jumping to the amp.

Spent all his money on the boat , so now he cant spend but $20 on audio ughdunno.gif.pagespeed.ce.nafMyhSsmY.gif

This is what I don't understand. He got the boat for a steal. Guy had it for sale for like $7,500....and somehow he stole the boat from him for like $2,500. I told him take the other $5k and go crazy!
