Another 3k would be nice; but it's not in da budget. Plus my subs are dual 2's. Besides its more fun when you can pic up without spending a ton of cash. I will figure something out. I just figured u guys could help me.

Is your rear deck cut out?? if so it could affect your sixth order design options

There's usually 2 different types of set ups bass heads prefer SQ/Music or SPL ...... a 3rd type of which is a mixtue of both usually a 4th order ,would gain but not much. Your box is definetly too large for spl ,it's musical. You would need to remove your old box(don't trash it) and replace it for a louder spl design just for higher spl numbers .note : very good spl designs sound terrible on music,lol

I gotta be able to play music. I cant ride around sounding like an ice cream truck. lol

My deck is cut out, but I can make a new deck from wood and relocate the 4 6.5s to my rear doors. So that's not an issue. The problem is, I know absolutely nothing about 6th orders. I don't even know how to calculate the total area of my trunk.

I also thought of more port area and tuning up about 4-5hz. Idk how much that would help but I'm willing to try it. Trust me. That box has been cut on several times already. lol

You could build a SPL only box for local bass comps and keep your music box ,

They say it's almost impossible to build a music /spl all in one that may be true but you have a large trunk, very large trunk ,I think it's possible for you have a 150 db trunk system and play music with it , you have the space ,a nasty 4th order can hit 150 also .you can build a 4th order music design ,then just simply add killer power to it to peg the 150, then when your done with bass/spl comp simply remove the unwanted power for music aka remove extra amps etc..you have a few good options ...it will take lot of time , but not much money especially you having XL 15's yes sir , however if you get a hold of a pair of Level 5 15 M2's ooh boy..game over

Depends on power , he only has a single SA3500, LvL 5's need power ,If he had two SA3500's then you'd see a gain with LvL 5's

Unfortunately, I have m1 xl's so I'm sure level 5 m2's would be huge upgrade. I just don't have 3k to sink in this shit right now. I have other hobbies too.

Now back to this 4th order.....

If I were to build a sealed box for the subs, then close off trunk area by boxing it with mdf and porting to spec, would that be considered a fourth order? Would my xl's work in a fourth?

You must use the trunk as part of the encloser, not just a 4th or 6th order in the trunk
