I am worried about my Alternator?

To start with I am building a project for my 96 Audi A4. I am removing my stock battery and replacing it with a Kinetik hc1200 for my starting battery and a Kinetik hc1800 for my amp. I have not decided which amp I want to run but I do know it will be between 1500-2000 watts 1ohm stable. The sub I will be using is a Memphis 12Mojoxd2 this sub is quite powerful with a range of 1750rms-3500max watts. The question is can I get away with running my stock alternator? I am looking for longevity in my system that also sounds amazing. Also, I am stationed overseas and is hard/frustrating to run to auto parts store looking for alts, plus I dont think they make many high performance alts for my car. Thanks in advance everybody for the help.

Sure you can. Upgrading you alt gives you more charging amps of current. So all you would need to do is put a charger on your batteries regularly, and you will be fine. Most importantly is the big 3, and your runs to the rear batt. If that is good, you should be fine, just remember to pop a charger on there every so often.

What amp are you using?

On the lower end of the range you listed, you should be fine with the stock alt. Just watch your voltage. On the upper rage I'd be iffy

Keep your gains low, watch your voltage, and charge your batts often

auto parts stores won't have a high output alt for your car. gotta go through mechman or dc power for that

Thanks everybody for the help. I have changed my mind on the 2500d. I am worried that it may overpower the sub and cause it to fry. I may just stick to the 1500v3 to keep things kinda cool.
