Brandonbkd Posted August 17, 2013 Report Posted August 17, 2013 So I just designed what I think would be a good box, but I am using "think" loosely as I haven't really designed any boxes before. I have a FI BL 18 on a SQ 2200. I had someone design me a box previously but the port area was close to 18in per cube which caused the sub to bottom out in the high 20s so here I am designing a new one. So is this a good box design?? This is basically what I'm doing with it. Sub up/Port back. john253a Posted August 17, 2013 Report Posted August 17, 2013 Looks like a joeX cut and past You need to put a 3 in common wall As that is what the pic is Other then that its getting there
CleanSierra Posted August 17, 2013 Report Posted August 17, 2013 John is right, and your tuning will drop with entering 3 in that field. I might take a 1/4-1/2" off of port width too. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Brandonbkd Posted August 17, 2013 Author Report Posted August 17, 2013 JoeX is the one who designed my previous box that sucked. It had a 6.25 wide port. And can you elaborate more on the "# of common port walls"? john253a Posted August 17, 2013 Report Posted August 17, 2013 What made his box suck Without knowing that you may end up with same outcome Side note if you want a low end tune why chose the bl and not the q
tugbizzle5970 Posted August 17, 2013 Report Posted August 17, 2013 Design so the sub and port or side by side. Cause a least that u can lay it any way u want if u dont like it that way.
