Because if so you have to be 21 to carry/buy a pistol There is nothing wrong with your choice in pistols though... The 27 is a snappy little bastard though... They are nice but the 40 caliber is a snappy round... The legal age to possess a handgun is 18. That's federal law, but there are exemptions. Purchase of handgun from private parties varies from state to state and is generally set at the age of 18 but I believe there is one state that allows it at 16. So it's 3 things you have to deal with. 1) FFL Purchase 2) Private Party purchase 3) Possession Rolex you sicken me. I got my Ruger MKII gifted to me by my neighbor when I was 18 as well as my Marlin Model 60, which belonged to his father. Two guns that will never leave my possession.
