soundstream15
When using the DD-1, lets say you use USB do you still use the CD to set gains or do you need to use a USB. Same goes for iPod n CD ya know? Might result in more clipping? I listen to nothing but USB, some CDs too
RooTxBeeR
If you use a ipod, you remove the files off the CD in lossless format. To keep the best quality possible. Then use them on your ipod. It is what I did, and I have not seen any problems. Jessica
for a usb thumb drive, use the highest quality mp3 your headunit will play. a lot of headunits wont support lossless wma and ac3. So you may have to use 320k mp3 or 320k wma. if you can use lossless then use that. Quote Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. soundstream15
Ok, I never use my iPhone just always USB, so I take it I should use track 5. -10db on a USB to set my gain?
soundstream15
Ok, snowdrifter made tracks that are mp3 so I'll use his
Jessica
the track is up to you. If you have a remote gain knob then use -10 with the bass knob all the way up, then check the -5 track and use the bass knob to find where you clip and mark it, then do the same with the 0db tone. Now you know if you played some boosted stuff or dubstep which can be -5db you know what the limit is at a glance. kl0wn
I used the CD to tune, but always use my iPod, haven't had a problem. Hell, before I had the DD-1 thrown on it with the CD, I tuned it with the iPod and it was spot on with the DD-1/CD combo. Sergeant_Skyrim
I just generated the same tones in Audacity and put them onto my iPod since that's the only thing I listen to. Considering I have a CD stuck in my headunit and all that fun stuff lol. Haven't ran into problems from it Quote Build in progress

It's still stuck in their, can't fix it since someone last year stole just the faceplate. But I guess I can leave it alone I have no issues, it was just on my mind
