Amp going into protect, then voltage surge? AGAIN! Dif amp?

Recommended Posts

But that wouldnt make any sense because my mids/highs amo draw more power than the sub amp does (T6004) and it ALWAYS works. Never shut diwn, sparked, or anything... And neither has my sub anp until just recently... 2 times its happened and i think the amps are just blown or fucked up... I need to go have it checked out when i have time..

take the t600 out and put the other amp just to see if it still works or goes straight to protect.

I mean honestly... WHAT THE HELL could I have done??

Ive checked my RCA's, sub, ohm load, the inside of the amp, my power, my grounds... EVERYTHING is good! what the hell is happening?

The night it cut out it just stopped...and went into protect...as soon as that happened I went to the back and tried to unplug and plug up the sub again... and it sparked at the terminal and the sub moved forward.... immediately took the wire out... felt the sub, and it was really REALLY hot. (The coil is NOT burnt or anything and is still at 2 ohm).

the other amp works fine... so I don't get it.... WHAT HAPPENED SOMEONE TELL ME :(

any eq's or signal processing? ... could be a shorted RCA or something in the headunit or eq causing it...

does it still do this with no input to the amps? i.e. unhook the rca's?

wth what the sub is doing the amp is passing DC voltage to the sub,

If you have the means, hook it up outside the car with a spare battery and a test speaker (use an ipod as a source)

basically find out if the amps are good or not.

I cant... Those are my RCA's. i have a stock HU that cant be replaced (waterfall dash).

It turns on and on these model amps it has the RCA signal light in the RF logo on the amp, and that also works. So i know its not the RCA's. and my T600-4 is also using the LC2i and its works fine.. I even switched the RCA's and well.. Back to swuare one..

I will try to hook it up without RCA's in and test the speaker in the morning.
