Sundown SA-12: less powerful than I tought?

2cubic feet is a tad big in my opinion

Specs for the sa-12 call for 2cuft

At the max. 1.5-2

I have mine at 1.75 a piece and I feel it is a little too big for them. He's running more power than rated to it, a smaller box will perform better.

i hear ya, but i'm running 4 in about 9 cubes and around 3k and they seem to do just fine. But then again, i'm not going to build a 7cube box to compare, lol. I may gain or lose but who can tell right?

I'm surprised no one caught this...

OP, you have a D2 sub? But claim the sub is getting 800 watts rms which is what the amp is rated to do at 2 ohms. So you cannot be wired to 2 ohms nominal, either 1 ohm or 4 ohms. I wonder if you're wired to 4 ohms nominal.

Also, you're going to want your sub level turned up, you're not getting full 4 volts output like that. How were the gains set?

And I agree with Klown, for a single 12" I'd shoot for like 1-1.5^3

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
