David Bailey Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 Ok, so my neighbor is trying to sell me some audio he has in storage. I don't know to many details yet, but I will let ya know when he gets me the model numbers. Anyway, he has 2 Audio Pipe 12" DVC 2ohm subs in an inclosed box, and a Kenwood 800 watt 2 channel class D mono amp. He said they are about 7 years old, and been in storage for a couple years. Ha said $400 for everything, including wires and cap. I know without the model numbers it is hard to tell, but did Audio Pipe ever put out anything decent, especially around 6 or 7 years ago? I know sometimes that older audio can be built better and like a treasure to find. And Kenwood has been solid for ages.. Any opinions?? CDetty Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 I saw a couple audiopipe subs the other day, the surrounds were massive (not as massive as a sundown x, but big) and they sounded decent on like 500 watts in my friends CRX....it might have just been that its a CRX. Krazykid122 Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 There good budget subs, I had 2 of the older eye candy 15s on a hifonics 1600 in a prefab box an they sounded great, probably would have been a lot better in a custom box on full power. The surrounds on mine were beefy, magnets pretty nice too. But that was about 4-5 years ago. I say go for it if there in good condition. 02 Dodge Durango 1 Fi SP4 18" .v2 Sundown SCV3k @.5 Ohms XS D3100 up front Northstar SMS AGM 400 in the back All XS Power 0ga OFC 240a Apex h/o alternator Pioneer AVH-X2500BT HU Dual 0ga runs from the alt to battery Dual 0ga runs from battery to amp

81000D Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 He just said the guy had a 2 channel mono amp. Lol. Sorry not trying to be a dick but he should check into that amp again.

audiA6_audio Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 I did a build with my buddy probably about 6 years ago. Used a audiopipe 15 ported in his s10 ext cab. sounded good. think he was pushing it about 1k steady. Could be worth looking into depending on condition.

There are amps out there that list as 2ch and mono. and yes externally it doesnt make sense but internally they share a common terminal so once bridged the amp is pushing all power to a single (mono) channel.
Pioneerchuck Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 Depending on which ones they are, I would say it's worth a look at the least. But $400 seems a little pricey..
