gattiboy13
So I plan on getting this sub http://www.woofersetc.com/p-11689-x-10-d2-sundown-audio-10-dual-2-ohm-1250w-rms-subwoofer.aspx and this is my amp I already purchased http://www.woofersetc.com/p-11280-gm-d9601-pioneer-monoblock-2400w-max-class-d-gm-series-car-amplifier.aspx will my amp be enough or should I go with a lower model sub? I will not swap out amp since I am very happy with it.
SnowDrifter
That amp has a (3), 40 amp fuses. Realistically it should put out somewhere in the 1200 watt neighborhood. So I'd say that's fine to get an X-10. You could step down to an SA-10, but depending on your experience level you may or may not blow it. It's give/take. An sa-10 would be cheaper, but you'd need to be more careful with it ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
gattiboy13
Ya I have the Fosgate T1 now and it cannot handle my amp, so I think I will go with the X series. Thanks.
SnowDrifter
It should be able to. It's a 3" coiled sub. Let me ask this: How did you set you gain? I don't care what it's set to. I want to know the reasoning/processes behind that set point ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
gattiboy13
I used an SMD meter to set gain and frequency cut off too. And yes all was done correct as well as deck clipping. And sub was in a custom specs enclosure designed by fosgate themselves.
SnowDrifter
What track did you use to set the gain on your head unit? Then the amp? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

SLAYER1805
That sub doesn't suck ass, its comparable to other 3" coil subs essentially, its just overpriced. I know people who have run them on more than RMS with no problem at all, new and old models
