cabl :D the thing is compartment size... to I go with the 2 cubes sealed for the rear and then just find a good tuned size port combo for the front how do I match the two I guess is my biggest question. I didn't do the math for the builds I helped with it was all construction.

I'm not an enclosure designer ... just don't have time, but I have studied what different enclosures should do and not do in the field with different applications ...

I would avoid a 6th order if I were you. Pain in the ass and you'll never get it right. Stick to your sealed and vented boxes for now. When you have your technique nailed, maybe branch out and try some new things. Do you know the Qes and Fs for the subwoofer? What is the model number of the sub in question?

The 6th will have a narrow pass band as well, so SPL oriented with a bunch of output in tuning range, quick falloff above and below tuning. This is not to say you can't have a musical 6th order, but testing and tweaking is absolutely necessary to get them right, and like I said, pain in the ass.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

well yesrerday I got the reply from mtx. with the specs for these drivers. it shows an fs of 33 with is a little higher than I expected so I'm going to get on winisd and get to making my box... still shooting for a 6th. because I'm kind of in a go big or go home sort of mood with this on :D so yeah... it'll be in the works. :D next paycheck I plan on getting my wood together. :D

To establish your pass band and get some decent useable frequency, a LARGE vented rear chamber tuned low will help you to avoid from unloading. Like BIG, 6-7 cubes(for non isobaric loading). Since you plan on isobaric and running 2 subs compound loaded, volumes can be HALF of what one driver wants even. The rear vented chamber needs to be tuned low and the front chamber will need to be tuned at your higher frequency to establish your pass band. From what I've read, you can find that rear chamber in the 20s and front chamber in the 40s. So just straight guessing, since you're using 2 subs performing as one, and you have the ability to have a much smaller than typical enclosure I. would shoot for the large rear chamber to be in the 3-3.5 range and tuned somewhere between 22-28, front chamber tuned 40-50 Hz and be about .75-1 cubes.

hmmm so I'm guessing that the frequency that's passed will be between the two tuning frequencies?

Like I said, I didn't model ANYTHING, those are pure guesses from how I think they would model somewhat well. You will need one HELL of a mid stage. And you still run the risk of blowing a sub pretty easily and once you know something is wrong, it's too late.
