easy 45s.

I hate using the gates / safety shit on the table saw. Jam's up on me, lol.

The way i'd do it, is measure maybe half an inch bigger to a inch bigger width wise on the piece i wanna 45, then put the guide up, that keeps it straight, so the angle of the blade, is at the tip of the end of the board. Kinda hard to explain for me.

I'm assuming the wider the piece of wood you start with the better. basically take you used cuts out of the middle for ease?

oh also. should every corner be fourty fived or just the one at the mouth of the port? I'm going to be using a total of four 3 inch precision ports. if that's to be taken into account.

Not sure what you meant by used cuts out of the middle first?

That's completely up to you. Sometimes it can cost you on the meter, if you're going for tenths of a db. sometimes it can help. But just remember what Snow said, it takes up space, especially larger pieces. But again, that has a role in the metering area too. Assuming you are metering anyways.

45s are fine IF you take their displacement into account when creating a box. I like to put **small** ones in the corners. Makes them stronger and it's better than glassing over a 90 degree angle.

Bigger ones just eat up box volume. Doesn't matter if you designed for it, but it's something to think about

exactly... I'm trying to take all that into account. my volumes before bracing and all is 2.5 cubes tuned to 25hz. and .85 and I'll be tuning that portion to 50. these are my net volumes before port displacement and bracing. I'm think two three inch 45s per section. on the back walls. one on the port side and one on the opposite. unless having all corners 45'd would really give me a gang of spl gain.

I will probably meter this thing once. I know my local shop has a metter so it could be interesting to see what it does. I'm not expecting big results because I'm only pushing 500 watts through it. isobaric 12s at 250 a piece. I'm building more for the challenge and to get rid of these subs off my shelf. :D but if I'm going to do it I might as well do it right you know? I messed up my first box... so my second will be my redeemer.

I wouldn't worry too much about it then, if its not a serious thing. If you want to for strength then by all means. But if its just a fun little project, i wouldn't. Unless you want to for shits, and to learn a little bit why not.

exactly. see that's kind of what I'm wanting to do. I enjoy building stuff... and I like my subwoofers. so I want to learn to build quality stuff that will get my name out there. my name is gonna be on it. so yeah that would be killer. I figure why not fund my addiction with my addiction :D
