Wicks
I was meaning if you played a sine wave at like 45 hz. If you burp amp it will be different. If you take steve test bench for example. Have everything hooked to the bench nothing to the car. Take the box from one car to the next playing the same 45 hz tune. FYI, At your sub's resonance frequency (~20-40-ish Hz) it's impedance increases greatly which isn't going to give you a good idea of what your amp can do regardless of the clamping issues. On mobile so it's hard to check but go to the D'Amore Engineering YouTube channel. It's in there along with other great vids. Jessica
He did actually do a video . Showed how phase angle works and everything. I have it bookmarked but I am on mobile so it would be a pita yo find it again Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside. Krakin
This: http://www.bcae1.com/compleximpedance.htm And this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qwxlnSDv9wY Now you know phase angles. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. Dd9515 king
Wicks im not saying to find the max output of the amp. I was just saying that no matter what you do to your system you will never see the same clamp numbers. When the op only got the 120 watts he was at a point of high rise. If he played different hz he would get a way different number. Clamping is what your amp is giving your sub at that moment in time at that frec. If you change anything it will change. Dd9515 king
I just watched the video. Then texted my friend that is an eletrical engineer. Phase angle is out of alinment at any frec other then your peak frec. So at your peak frec. There is no phase angle they are the same.
