I would spend the $500 to $600 on a set of comps and buy a used old school ppi art series or the power class right after the art series from the mid nineties, you should be able to pick a used A600 art or a PC2150/PC2600 for less than $200 used that will put most amps today to shame.

Hi Bucky27, SQ and on a budget is counterproductive. For your goal i guess you a higher quality 2 or 3 way comp system and for the rear you can work with a 6x9 coaxial speaker. In SQ the music have to play frontstage, the rear gives a fill of sound. That mean you can live with less wattage and speaker´s from the rear.

For guesses on speaker´s, we need a budget. And if i understand it right you need amping for them as well.

That doesn't apply to everyone, everyone who wants to put in a lot of work work will be able to get further on a 200dollar front stage than someone on a 800 dollar front stage.

You don't even need rear fill if the front is good.

The component set Watch the bass linked to is a very good one, but you still need to treat your car to enjoy the full potential of these drivers.

Thinking is the root of all problems...

You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
