bucky27 Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 IM in the process of building an SQ car i have my sub and amp looking to upgrade the mids and highs now. Im doing this on a budget until i can save up quite a bit to go all out on the car. I was looking at Helix or cadence maybe? looking to run a 4 channel amp to all of the mids and highs. Should i go with componet or coaxel? If i go componet which would be a good choice if coaxel 2,3, or 4 ways? Im working with 6 3/4 from with stock tweeter pods in A pillars and 6x9s in the back
Watch the bass Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 Hi Bucky27, SQ and on a budget is counterproductive. For your goal i guess you a higher quality 2 or 3 way comp system and for the rear you can work with a 6x9 coaxial speaker. In SQ the music have to play frontstage, the rear gives a fill of sound. That mean you can live with less wattage and speaker´s from the rear. For guesses on speaker´s, we need a budget. And if i understand it right you need amping for them as well. slowfkncar Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 On a budget won't get you anything to win SQ shows, however you said coaxial in an "SQ" paragraph lol,I'm willing to bet you would be happy with a 80prs running a set Or two of image dynamics cxs62/64 components.

bighossf150 Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 im saving up so when i get the money around 5 to 600 for amp and speakers Between the processor, components and 4 channel I have around $1200 in the front stage going in my sierra and I really need to upgrade the 4 channel. So I will be around $1500-1600 when its all said and done so you might want to bump that budget up a good bit. With that being said if you want decent sq on the cheap get a pair of silver flute mids, vifa ring radiator tweets, ppi p900.4 and and a minidsp processor. That set up would cost around $400-500. Jessica Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 1200 huh? Damn I will be right in there too. Kinda makes me sick to think about. More money in my front stage than I ever spent on any system total before lol Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside.
