ReeseChamp Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 I have 2 15 audiobahn SE 500 RMS in a 40 hz tuned ported box, 890 true watts amp, the subs are 9 years old (most likely the reason i think), i was playing max volume with bass eq at 0 for maybe a hour striaght, i didnt hear any distortion, i was sitting in a parking lot and popped my trunk to check up on everything and smelled electrical burning so i ran to go turn my stuff down but before i could it popped and the bass shut offi think its most likely that they are 9 years old, they arent even getting rated power and it still blew. any other ideas of why it broke? one is super stiff the other still pushes in but wont make bass Subs - Dual RE Audio SXX v2 15D4 wired at 1 ohm Door Speakers - RE REX 5x7/6x9 Battery - Kinetik HC 2000 Sub Amp - Crescendo BC2000 Door Amp - Alpine MRP-F300Head Unit - Pioneer DEH-X8600BS

ChevyBoy95 Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 did you ever think maybe when you opened your trunk the compression went away therefore causing the subs to unload and blow quite quickly?
